Café 80

Welcome to Café 80, a delightful gem nestled at 80 George St, Perth PH1 5LB, United Kingdom. With its convenient location next to the art gallery and the bustling center of town, this café invites you to pause and enjoy the simple pleasures of life through delicious food and warm hospitality.

As a food reviewer at Café Encore, I was eager to explore the culinary offerings at Café 80, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The café greeted us with a very friendly welcome, setting a comfortable tone for our visit. Customer reviews speak volumes, with many praising the excellent selection of gluten-free soups and the fresh gluten-free bread available. One guest, Chris Rush, highlighted the café's commitment to accommodating dietary preferences while serving up high-quality dishes.

  • Soups: One standout dish is the butternut and chili soup, which is described as "amazingly creamy" and sure to warm any soul.
  • Monkfish: Another customer, Ana Cardoso Cachopo, raved about the monkfish, claiming it was "delicious" and made her experience one to remember.
  • Creative Dishes: Nikos Skylakis recommends trying the dirty potatoes, topped with pulled pork, cheese, and red cabbage—a flavor-packed dish that sings of comfort food at its finest.
  • Coffee & Desserts: No visit is complete without a taste of their cheesecake, which has been labeled as "out of this world," making it a must-try for dessert enthusiasts.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Café 80 resonates with a feeling of cosiness and relaxation. Diners have commented on the stylish decor and cleanliness, making it an inviting spot not just for a quick bite but for an afternoon of leisure. Linzie Ellis noted how friendly the staff were, adding a personal touch to each visit, particularly citing the gentleman who served her during her lunch.

Additionally, the café is dog-friendly, ensuring that furry companions are welcome, much to the delight of patrons like Aileen Allan. The thoughtful gesture of offering a plate of chicken for her dogs exemplifies the accommodating service that further enhances the guest experience.

In summary, Café 80 is not just a place to eat; it’s a community hub filled with flavors that evoke nostalgia and a sense of belonging. Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty bowl of soup, enjoying a rich cup of coffee, or indulging in the delightful cheesecake, each bite is a testament to their commitment to quality and comfort. I highly recommend making this charming café part of your next culinary adventure.

Really enjoyed my visit here. Stylish decor. Small but tasty menu. I had the lamb stovies, soda water and lime and, then, coffee. All lovely. Toilets clean and with quirky touches.
